Yeah, I get why this book is famous, why the plot twist was a first for its time. My Review 4 stars Where to start, well I saw a few other people wanted to read this as a Buddy read, so whilst on a Miss Marple kick challenge I thought why not. The Murder of Roger Ackroyd is the book that made Agatha Christie a household name and launched her career as a perennial bestseller. It was a real tricky one, though I did have my suspicions very early on. This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers.

Was interesting to read a book written about years ago, and with old English writing style.

All the pieces were there. How can the essential frisson-granting narrative avkroyd translate onto film, for pity’s sake?!

Nothing much can be said about the story or plot, or anything for that matter, without dropping a major spoiler. I should then have said disarranged, n’est ce pas? No deductions involved whatsoever. So as this book is counted in top mystery books, I definitely wanted to be ahead of Christie or should I say Poirot and solve this one on my own. Given that he didn’t recognize Poirot when he first arrived, I think he helped Poirot because he didn’t know how to judge him.
