This is an astounding book replete with miracles, meetings with masters, description of higher levels of consciousness and spiritual attainment. It is a rather strange tale. Sri M is an enlightened soul, a Guru whom I met years ago. Sri M is very accessible I wish he would take me as a disciple but I will have to wait for another birth when I am more evolved. Whether or not you are a skeptic, this beautifully produced book makes for compelling reading.
And, hey, the author is around, if you want to grill him about the harder to believe elements in the book. The autobiography deals with transformation of Mumtaz Ali Khan into Sri M as he went on acquiring profound knowledge of the Upanishads, deep personal insights and a higher level of consciousness.
Descriptions on the beneficial effects of yoga, meditation and metaphysics are fascinating. Sri M is often termed as modern day Kabir Das.
It is prophetic that he will use the name ‘Sri M’, which will remind him of his Babaji Maheshwarnath, who comes across as the “great master, wise, powerful and loving.
For anybody who has interest in mysticism, Sufism and Vedanta, Sri M’s autobiography is, indeed, a treasure-trove. What stands out about this book is that its narrative exudes a sense of wonder, for the author often uses the word ‘strange’ to describe his experiences.

Some of the instances that he recounts challenge your sense of belief and disbelief so much, that you don’t quite know what to believe. But a little deeper reading, however, renders more meaning to the narrative than mastre apparent at first glance. He deals easily and honestly with the mistrust between religions just as he also shows how these boundaries can melt away.

I have apprenticsd particular interest in autobiographies and would have found that sri ‘M’s too is a stereotype of many such. But as a traveller on the path of spirituality i understood that an autobiography is not just a person’s experience for the curious but deep inside it contains messages which even the author might not have considered significant as humans have different levels of perception as directed by god.
To be precise i was reading Paramahamsa Yogananda’s, ‘ Autobiography of a yogi’ and had trouble understanding his perspectives appprenticed i had this immense urge to buy sri M’s book. I read the page book in as little time a possible then continued with Yogananda’s and found that it became more lucid than earlier. This was because the message that was being conveyed to me became more channelized in line with my level of perception. The book is expressed in lucid common man’s parlance apprenyiced cognition so that a spiritual traveller can identify with sri M’s experience of the divine omnipotent.
I am yet to finish the book so perhaps it’s a little too early to pass a judgement. Consider my ihmalayan valid for the first 33 chapters. The style of writing is lucid himalayna fast paced.
So even though the author speaks about his own experiences, both in his childhood and in the beginning of his life as a yogi, the book does not drag or bore in anyway. The book can truly spark a genuine interest in apprenticedd, if the reader is not spiritually inclined already.
As for mind boggling truths and revelations, perhaps they truly cannot be painted with ink on the pages of a book.

Anyways it is an individual’s prerogative how they receive something. I read it with equal measures of curiosity, apprenficedskepticism and A wish to believe. God speaks to us through Sri M. This book reintroduced me to myself. M is a giant and every word of his in the book is like a nectar flowing so lovingly to guide all the readers to greatness. No book could mesmerise me and transform me as much as this autobiographical journey of Sri M has.
